About Dr. Maskin
Rachel Maskin (she/her/hers) is a clinical psychologist who offers individual therapy to adults and adolescents. She has training and experience working with individuals on a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, identity development, relational issues, and life transitions. Dr. Maskin also has an extensive background working with members of the LGBTQ+ community.
“Change doesn’t have to feel intimidating, isolating or impossible. Being honest with ourselves about the life patterns that cause suffering and keep us stuck is the first step to healing, and you shouldn’t have to do it alone. I believe a strong, connected therapeutic relationship makes all the difference. As your therapist, I will meet you with compassion and respect and even bring in a bit of humor along the way. Together, we will work to build an understanding of your unique life experiences to help you cultivate agency and insight.”
Dr. Maskin specializes in psychodynamic therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Dr. Maskin has advanced training in psychodynamic therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), both of which she considers the foundation of her therapy work. Additionally, she often integrates skills from other therapy modalities (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy) as appropriate for each individual client.
Dr. Maskin treats Insomnia, PTSD, Anxiety, and Grief
Dr. Maskin also provides treatment for various sleep disorders including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Insomnia (ACT-I). Dr. Maskin completed her doctoral training at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She spent the previous year working with veterans at the VA Loma Linda. She will be completing her postdoctoral fellowship and establishing her professional roots with CPW.
