Appointments & Cancellations

In order to provide the highest standard of care and be accessible to our clients, we limit the number of clients we work with at a time and operate through routinely scheduled appointment slots. These slot frequencies are typically scheduled weekly and, very occasionally, biweekly for long term clients who are wrapping up with treatment.

All clients are required to give 24 hours notice for canceling appointments regardless of reason for needing to cancel. For late cancellations, clients are responsible for payment of session fee. Telehealth appointments are available. Should frequency of cancellations exceed twice a quarter (once a quarter if biweekly), a stricter cancellation policy will be discussed. This policy promotes effectiveness in your therapy, ensures your therapist is accessible, and is fair to those in on our wait list, as we only take on a certain number of clients at a given time.

(Why do therapists charge for missed appointments? Here is an article describing some of the often surprising reasons why.)

  • Cases of suspected neglect and/or abuse of minor by a parent, guardian, custodian, or caretaker

  • Cases of suspected neglect and/or abuse of elder by their caretaker.
